New Year's Eve: Night Curfew in Delhi, no celebratory events after 11pm
The order says that the night curfew will be in force, and no new year celebratory events, congregations, and gatherings at the public place will be permitted from 11 pm of December 31 to 6 am of January 1, 2021, and also from 11 pm of January 1 to 6 am of January 2. Public places will not include licensed premises. However, there will be no restriction on the interstate and intrastate movement of persons and goods during the curfew period.

Steep rise in ceasefire violations, terrorist killings on a high in Jammu and Kashmir
Till December 28 this year, Pakistan carried out 4700 incidents of ceasefire violations at Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. Ceasefire violations have jumped to 4700, highest in the last 17 years. In 2019, there were 3168 ceasefire violations. Interestingly, out of the 3168 ceasefire violations 1551 have taken place since August.
Manipur government extends 'disturbed area' status for another year
A senior Manipur Home Department official said that the promulgation of "disturbed area" status provides sweeping powers to the army, para-military forces and various other security forces deployed in the state. The Act has been in force in Manipur since 1980 and in several other northeastern states to curb terrorism and was extended from time to time.
