New Covid-19 Variant: 4 in Delhi confirm mutant, 200 in quarantine

All four patients have been admitted in the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital. The patients found infected with the new variant have been isolated separately in different rooms of a special ward designated for the patients suspected or found infected with the new variant, the hospital officials said.

Of the 20 cases, eight have been registered at National Centre for Disease Control in Delhi, 7 at National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences in Bangalore, two at Cellular and Molecular Biology in Hyderabad. One each has been logged at National Institute of Biomedical Genomics near Kolkata, National Institute of Virology in Pune and CSIR Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology in Delhi.
No flight from United Kingdom to land in India till 7 January

Initial decision on suspension was till December 31. However, in the wake of samples increasing for the variant strain, a new decision was taken. "Decision has been taken to extend the temporary suspension of flights to & from the UK till 7 January 2021," Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said in a tweet on Wednesday.
