Dhanani in his PIL, had pointed out that even though Paatil and Sanghavi were not registered pharmacist nor did they hold any legal capacity to enmass, purchase, hoard and distribute remdesivir, they hoarded the injections and distributed them from the BJP Party office in Surat.

Over 1.2K Covid patients died in Delhi in last one week

Delhi on Tuesday reported 28,395 new Covid-19 cases, the highest single-day spike since the outbreak of the pandemic last year, while the test positivity rate rose to 32.82 per cent, according to the health bulletin issued by the Delhi government. As of now, Delhi has as many as 85,575 active cases of which 40,124 are in home isolation.

Modi said that this time the demand for oxygen has increased in several parts of the country and the government is working with full sensitivity to meet the demand. He also said that there is a need to save the country from lockdown, and requested the states to go for lockdown as the last option.
Power under GST law to order provisional attachment 'draconian': SC

The top court emphasised that this power of attachment can't be used as an "unguided discretion" by the authorities. A bench of Justices D.Y. Chandrachud and M.R. Shah said: "The power to order a provisional attachment of the property of the taxable person including a bank account is draconian in nature and the conditions which are prescribed by the statute for a valid exercise of the power must be strictly fulfilled."
Covid-19 crisis: Delhi HC slams Centre, says "we will be doomed'

Several critical remarks were made by a division bench of the High Court comprising Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli while hearing a PIL in connection with the Covid-19 situation in Delhi. "We will be doomed," said the bench if medicines and resources are diverted without application of mind.
Need oxygen desperately to save lives, appeals Ganga Ram Hospital

"We need oxygen very badly. Have enough to last only seven to eight hours," hospital Chairman D.S. Rana told IANS. He said around 120 patients in the ICU are heavily dependent on oxygen. "If we don't get oxygen on time, then many will die," he warned. He said that the hospital administration has informed both the Centre and the state governments about shortage. "80 per cent of other patients are also dependent on oxygen," he added.
Fadnavis faces flak as 22-year-old kin gets vaccinated

The issue came to light when Tanmay Fadnavis posted a smiling image of his on social media while getting vaccinated, though he is stated to be far below the permitted eligible age by the Centre. While admitting that Tanmay is his relative, Fadnavis claimed that he was not aware how he (Tanmay) managed to get the vaccine jab at the National Cancer Institute in Nagpur.
