The minimum temperature of National Capital Delhi this week is expected to drop to 9 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Delhi witnessed a partly cloudy sky with a minimum temperature of 11 degrees Celsius and a 'very poor' air quality on Thursday.
The maximum temperature for the day will be around 27 degrees and relative humidity at 8.30 a.m. was pegged at 82 per cent.
The maximum temperature on Wednesday, was recorded at 27 degrees and the minimum at 10.5 degrees, two degrees below normal.
The overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of the national capital at 9 a. m. stood at 362 according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR).
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor', while between 401 to 500 it is considered 'severe'.
The level of PM 2.5 pollutant stood at 200 and PM 10 pollutant was recorded at 316.
The air quality over Delhi-NCR is supposed to improve gradually but remained in the 'very poor' category on November 18 and 19, claimed the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi.

The IMD prediction for the following five days: The air quality is likely to improve significantly from November 21 owing to relatively strong winds but will remain in the 'Very Poor' category till November 21 and. PM2.5 to be the predominant pollutant.
