MEA Defends Decision to Deny Entry to Indian-Origin Writer

In the aftermath of UK-based Indian-origin author Nitasha Kaul's denied entry into Bengaluru, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reiterated that the entry of foreign nationals into India is a matter of sovereign decision. Kaul, who was scheduled to participate in an event organized by the Karnataka government, was sent back from Bengaluru airport to London last week.

In response to queries about comments made by a police official in Haryana's Ambala regarding the cancellation of passports and visas of individuals involved in breaking barricades during the recent farmers' agitation, Jaiswal refrained from offering a direct response. Instead, he underscored that all matters pertaining to passports and visas are governed by established rules, laws, and guidelines. Any issues arising in this regard will be addressed in accordance with the existing legal framework.
