Judge Narendra Kumar (III) issued the ruling on Wednesday in response to a petition submitted by advocate Nripendra Pandey and others.

The additional district judge's court has dismissed the revision petition filed by Muslim parties contesting the junior court's ruling on the admissibility of a civil suit aimed at securing the right to perform prayers at Lord Shesh Nagesh Teeleshwar Mahadev Mandir, located within the premises of the Teele Wali Masjid by the banks of the Gomti River in the capital city of Uttar Pradesh.

Maulana Kari Sayyed Shah Fazlul Mannan initiated the civil revision petition in objection to the decision made on September 6, 2023, by the civil judge (south), who deemed the suit filed by Hindu parties as maintainable.

Advocate Nripendra Pandey originally lodged the suit in court on February 15, 2023, seeking authorization for prayers to be conducted at the Lord Shesh Nagesh Teeleshwar Mahadev Mandir.

Another application, requesting a survey of Teele Wali Masjid, is scheduled for a hearing on March 2 in the additional district judge's court.

Previously, lawyer Hari Shankar Jain initiated this case in the civil court in Lucknow back in 2013, seeking a survey of the mosque. The case has remained pending since then.

Muslim litigants contested the case in the additional district judge's court, arguing its inadmissibility.

Hindu litigants asserted that the Teele Wali Masjid was originally 'Lakshman Teela', constructed by Lakshman, the younger brother of Lord Ram. They petitioned the court to permit a survey of the mosque premises, particularly the area annexed by the mosque committee in 2013 by erecting a boundary wall.

The suit further contends that the Tileshwar temple exists within the mosque and that the entire complex is dedicated to Sheshnag Dudheshwar Mahadev.
