Ludhiana court blast: Intelligence inputs reveal hand of Pakistan-backed Khalistani terrorists

3. “We got specific inputs regarding local gangs have been hired and radicalized to revive Khalistan movement that was backed by Pakistan's ISI. We shared these inputs with local police and an operation to conducted across the state to prepare a list of criminals out on bail or absconding. The recoveries made in the last few months were just tip of an iceberg,” said a senior police officer.

4. A senior police officer further informed, grenade blast near the gate of the Army cantonment in Pathankot in November was also a terror activity carried out by local criminals. In the last 5 months, Punjab Police has recovered 7 tiffin bombs and over 10 hand grenades from bordering towns.

5. "This year around 42 drone sightings of unmanned aerial vehicles near Punjab were reported and many more remained unreported. The explosives and small arms were dropped using the drone from Pakistan side will be used to destabilize peace in the state," senior officer added.

6. In August 2021, Punjab Police had arrested Gurmukh Sing, relative of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and recovered a huge amount of explosives from his possession. In the investigation, it was found that he was getting logistic support from Pakistan's ISI and by other Pakistan-based pro-Khalistan terrorist groups to carry out multiple terror attacks in Punjab in order to revive militancy before state elections.

7. Meanwhile, on the Ludhiana court complex incident Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that there is an attempt to spread anarchy as the polls are near. Investigation teams are carrying out information to unearth which forces, agencies or gangs are behind this.

8. The blast took place on Thursday inside a bathroom on the second floor of the court complex. A team of the National Investigation Agency visited the blast site to further investigate the incident.
