The culmination of the naval exercise 'Sea Phase of MILAN 2024' was marked by a splendid ceremony aboard INS Vikrant. With 35 units, comprising ships, submarines, and aircraft, this edition of MILAN saw significant participation.
A notable aspect was the involvement of 13 ships and one aircraft from allied foreign nations, enhancing the event's international cooperation. The closing ceremony stood out for its distinctive approach: all 35 units convened at anchorage off Visakhapatnam, with Commanding Officers gathering aboard INS Vikrant for deliberations.
The Indian Navy showcased its strength with the participation of INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant, both aircraft carriers. The exercises encompassed a wide array of scenarios, including surface, sub-surface, and air warfare, emphasizing readiness against asymmetric threats.
Various intricate exercises were conducted, ranging from surface firings to advanced anti-air shoots and anti-submarine warfare drills with Indian Navy submarines. The comprehensive training regime also featured air defense exercises against fighter aircraft, extensive operations involving shipborne helicopters, and seamanship maneuvers such as refueling from navy tankers.
