CEO Jammu and Kashmir said the Special Summary Revision has added 93, 284 new voters into electoral rolls across the region, thus improving the EP ratio from 0.59 to 0.60.
He further stated that 45,964 new voters were added, adding another 18-19 in the year category, while 24,310 were females, increasing by 51,142 in the number of female voters.
At present, in Jammu and Kashmir, 25.34 lakh voters fall in the 18 to 29 years age category.
He further added that the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls with 1st July, 2024, as a qualifying date has been completed in all the twenty districts. It is an intensive revision for making electoral rolls accurate, inclusive, and pure.
Now, with the completion of Special Summary Revision-2024 and the publication of the final electoral roll, the total number of voters has increased to 88.03 lakh, including 44.89 lakh male and 43.13 lakh female voters, with 168 electors of the third gender.
He further said the gender ratio also registered a definite increase of 2 points: from 959 to 961, thus making a big and laudable improvement in the direction of furthering electoral inclusion of women.
The number of polling stations has also gone up in Jammu and Kashmir—from 11,629 to 11,838. In addition to this, the polling station locations have been increased from 8,930 to 9,168.
He said that among these voters, Jammu and Kashmir has an electorate consisting of 83,191 persons with disabilities and 2,428 centenarian voters.
