"Israel stands by India's right to defend itself," Azar tweeted on X. "Terrorists must understand there is no hiding from their despicable acts against the innocent."

Operation Sindoor was carried out with precision, not affecting any civilian or military infrastructure in Pakistan, India's Ministry of Defence stated. The ministry stressed that the operation was "focused, measured, and non-escalatory."

International responses to the operation have been mixed. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated he was closely monitoring the unfolding situation between the two nuclear neighbours.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump also weighed in on the strikes, hoping for a speedy resolution. "We just heard about it… I hope it ends very quickly," he said.

At the same time, the UAE's Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, called for restraint in an official release made by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, calling for de-escalation and calm.

India has emphasized that its reaction was prompted by the "barbaric" nature of the Pahalgam terror attack, where 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali died.

The Defence Ministry again emphasized that the strikes were carefully calibrated. "India has exercised significant restraint in target selection and mode of delivery," stated the official statement.

It further emphasized the seriousness of New Delhi in bringing the guilty to book, stating: "We are making good on the assurance that those responsible will be brought to book.
