India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have commenced the joint military exercise 'Desert Cyclone 2024' in Rajasthan. The two-week drill is strategically designed to enhance interoperability and foster the exchange of best practices, with a specific focus on urban operations. The exercise aims to pave the way for greater collaboration in various areas of defense, including the production and development of defense equipment, joint exercises involving armed forces, and naval operations.
The collaboration also extends to sharing strategic information and doctrines, along with technical cooperation concerning Intermediate Jet Trainer programs. The inaugural India-UAE Joint Air Forces exercise took place in September 2008 at the Al-Dhafra base in Abu Dhabi, reflecting the commitment to reinforcing defense capabilities through mutual cooperation.
The 'Desert Cyclone 2024' exercise emphasizes the shared commitment of India and the UAE to regional security and stability. The collaborative military engagement is expected to strengthen defense ties between the two countries and contribute to fostering regional peace and security. The focus on urban operations will allow the participating armed forces to refine their skills and exchange valuable insights to address contemporary security challenges.
