French President Macron to Tour Jaipur's Heritage Sites Today Alongside PM Modi

On January 26, President Macron will participate in the Republic Day Parade as the Chief Guest, marking the sixth time a French President has been honored with this role.

French President Emmanuel Macron, designated as the Chief Guest for the 75th Republic Day celebrations in the national capital, is scheduled to arrive in Jaipur on Thursday. Upon arrival, he will be received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the two leaders are expected to tour heritage sites, including Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal in Jaipur. There are indications that a roadshow may also take place, although this has not been officially confirmed.

Discussions during bilateral meetings between Modi and Macron may cover various topics, including the Israel-Hamas conflict, Houthi attacks in the Red Sea, defense partnerships, and the EU trade deal between the two countries.

It's worth noting that India has extended invitations to the President of France for Republic Day celebrations five times since 1976. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi participated in the Bastille Day Parade in France on July 14, 2023, becoming the second Indian Prime Minister to do so after Manmohan Singh.
