Delhi's Air Quality Plunges to 'Severe' Levels, Health Concerns Rise

Measuring on the Air Quality Index (AQI) scale from 0 to 500, Anand Vihar surpassed the 'severe' threshold, indicating critical pollution levels.

The consistent challenge of subpar air quality raises substantial health risks for residents, demanding immediate action to combat environmental issues in Delhi.

At Anand Vihar, PM2.5 levels peaked at 500, while PM10 reached 495, and CO levels settled at 108, classified as 'moderate,' as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

AQI ranges define 'good' between zero and 50, 'satisfactory' between 51 and 100, 'moderate' between 101 and 200, 'poor' between 201 and 300, 'very poor' between 301 and 400, and 'severe' from 401 to 500.

The Bawana station reported high PM2.5 at 450 and PM10 at 398, both falling into the 'severe' and 'very poor' categories, respectively. However, CO levels were marked 'satisfactory' at 98.

At the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport T3, PM2.5 levels peaked at 411, PM10 at 323, and CO at 111, maintaining a 'severe,' 'very poor,' and 'moderate' rating, respectively.

ITO's monitoring station indicated 'severe' PM2.5 levels at 500 and PM10 at 458. CO levels stood at 127, classified as 'moderate,' with NO2 at 49, categorized as 'good.'

The New Moti Bagh station reported 'severe' air quality with PM2.5 levels at 465.

Okhla Phase-II documented severe PM2.5 and PM10 levels at 454 and 420, respectively.
