Indian Railways reported that 18 trains were running late due to the fog and cold waves. The IMD had previously indicated the likelihood of cold wave to severe cold wave conditions in North India for the next two days, with cold day to severe day wave conditions expected over the plains of Northwest India for the next three days before subsiding.

The agency also predicted the continuation of dense to very dense fog conditions in North India over the next five days. Minimum temperatures in the range of 3-7 degrees Celsius are expected in various parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, south Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh, and isolated pockets of Bihar, as per the IMD's daily bulletin.
