Controversial Luxury Bus of Pinarayi Vijayan Geared Up for Tourist Excursions

Built at a cost of over Rupees one crore, the bus attracted significant attention and controversy during its six-week journey.

The controversial luxury bus that garnered attention during Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's tour of 140 assembly constituencies is making headlines again. Owned by the state-run Transport Corporation, the bus is undergoing modifications, including the removal of the seat where Vijayan sat during the tour. Sources suggest that the revamped bus will now be repurposed for tourism.

Built at a cost of over Rupees one crore, the bus attracted significant attention and controversy during its six-week journey. The Congress-led opposition raised concerns about the need for a lift installed in the bus, allowing Vijayan and the Ministers to board and alight with ease. Despite the controversies, the bus, equipped with an attached toilet, will be retained for tourism purposes.

The bus became a subject of ridicule when CPI-M leader A.K.Balan mentioned that it would be placed in a museum after the tour, attracting visitors who want to see the vehicle used by Vijayan. The bus is expected to return to the state soon, with anticipation surrounding its future use and the reactions it might evoke.
