Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed admiration for the extraordinary courage, unwavering commitment, and sacrifices of Army personnel on Army Day, celebrated on January 15.
He said on X, "On Army Day, we honour the extraordinary courage, unwavering commitment and sacrifices of our Army personnel. Their relentless dedication in protecting our nation and upholding our sovereignty is a testament to their bravery. They are pillars of strength and resilience."
The Army Day is observed to honor the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, General K.M. Cariappa, who later became a Field Marshal.
President Droupadi Murmu extended greetings, "In situations of conflict as well as peace, our valiant soldiers are ever ready to serve the nation in every way they can. Today, a grateful nation pays tribute to those who have laid down their lives for the motherland and salutes the spirit of the Indian Army! I offer my best wishes to all members of the Army."
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, “Every Indian is not only aware of the courage, bravery and valour of the army but also has a feeling of gratitude towards them. The Indian Army has always protected the country and has made countless sacrifices for it. On behalf of all the countrymen, I salute and congratulate the Indian Army!”
