Tata Steel India Achieves Unprecedented Production Milestone

During the January-March quarter, the production of crude steel remained relatively steady, hovering around 5.38 million tonnes.

Tata Steel India achieved a milestone in its annual crude steel production, hitting a record high of 20.8 million metric tons during the fiscal year 2023-24. This marks a notable 4 percent increase from the previous year, as per the preliminary data disclosed by the company.

During the January-March quarter, the production of crude steel remained relatively steady, hovering around 5.38 million tonnes.

The surge in domestic demand for steel played a pivotal role in driving a 9 percent year-on-year growth in domestic deliveries.

Despite its strong performance in India, Tata Steel encountered challenges in its international operations. In the Netherlands, the company's production stood at 4.8 million metric tons for the fiscal year 2023-24, witnessing a significant decline of 24 percent compared to the preceding year. Similarly, production in the UK remained stagnant at 3.02 million metric tons, mirroring the figures from the previous year, as stated by the company.
