When questioned regarding his attitude towards her then, he replied, "She was quite confident because she is Prakash Padukone's daughter so everyone was aware of her."

Muzammil further added that Deepika herself had taken the initiative in asking him out, but he was the one who ended things in the end.

Talking about their divergent professional life, he remarked, "I was a star at that point, she was not.". She is a star now. Everyone recognizes her, no one recognizes me. I am huge fan. I enjoy watching her films. She is a gorgeous woman. She is doing wonderfully but the truth is what it is." When inquired if they still maintain contact, Muzammil explained that since Deepika's wedding with Ranveer Singh in 2019, they have not remained in touch.

"Sometimes we used to talk before she got married," he added, saying that after the breakup they had become friendly and would sometimes congratulate each other on their achievements.

Reminiscing about their early days, the actor-model said, "We were kids then. We would take rickshaws during rains and go for dates. That was very cute. I used to earn more than her because I started earning better.". Then I purchased a car and she was very pleased about that. These are very memorable moments because I have not gone out on a date in a rickshaw since then, and we were so happy despite not having any money." He also narrated a special birthday memory, "On one birthday, I ensured the DJ repeated her favorite song.". Despite having no money, the DJ played the song she wanted because I was buddies with the DJ. He played just that song for an hour and a half because it was her birthday."
