UPSC Civil Services 2023 Results: Lucknow's Aditya Srivastava secures top rank

An official spokesperson revealed that the selection process was based on the results of the written phase of the Civil Services Examination conducted in September 2023 by UPSC, followed by interviews for the Personality Test conducted between January and April 2024. Out of the candidates, a commendable total of 1,016 individuals have been recommended for appointment, acknowledged for their exceptional performance throughout the examination.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) disclosed the outcomes of the Civil Services Exam 2023, unveiling Aditya Srivastava as the top scorer. Following closely behind, Animesh Pradhan and Donuru Ananya Reddy secured the second and third positions respectively.

Out of the candidates, a commendable total of 1,016 individuals have been recommended for appointment, acknowledged for their exceptional performance throughout the examination.

However, it is crucial to highlight that the candidacy of 355 recommended individuals is provisional, pending further verification and scrutiny.

According to UPSC statistics, 180 candidates have been designated for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), while 200 candidates have secured positions in the Indian Police Service (IPS), and 37 candidates have been chosen for the Indian Foreign Service (IFS).

In addition, a noteworthy 613 candidates have been handpicked for various Grade A positions within the Central government, with an additional 113 candidates securing positions in Grade B roles.

The interview phase, conducted in multiple stages from January to April, saw participation from a total of over 2,800 candidates. The Civil Services mains examination, conducted in a subjective format, spanned two shifts from September 15 to September 24.
