Top 10 institutes for higher education in India (NIRF Rankings 2023)

NIRF has announced rankings in 13 categories, including overall, universities, colleges, research institutions, engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, dental, law, architecture and planning, and innovation. According to the list, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras has secured the first position in the overall ranking of educational institutes in India.

The Ministry of Education on Monday released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2023. The rankings can be accessed on the official NIRF website, nirfindia.org. NIRF has announced rankings in 13 categories, including overall, universities, colleges, research institutions, engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, dental, law, architecture and planning, and innovation. According to the list, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras has secured the first position in the overall ranking of educational institutes in India. IIT Madras has maintained its top position in both the overall and engineering institute rankings for five consecutive years. The institutes were evaluated by NIRF based on the following parameters: teaching, learning and resources (TLR), research and professional practice (RP), graduation outcomes (GO), outreach and inclusivity (OI), and peer perception. In the overall category, there are seven IITs, one IISc, one AIIMS, and JNU has retained its 10th position this year as well. Here are the top 10 overall educational institutes in India and their scores according to the 2023 NIRF rankings:
