UP schools reopen with excitement, hesitancy

"There was excitement but shadowed by hesitancy. I was excited about meeting my friends and teacher after almost five months but the shadow of the Covid also loomed large. The seating arrangement had been changed to maintain distance and only a handful of students were present today," said Ankita Mehrotra a class 10 student at a reputed girls' school.
Doors of Sainik schools to open for girls also: PM Modi

The Prime Minister said there has been a demand from the girl students to allow them to study in Sainik schools and therefore the Union government has decided to open the doors for girl students. The step will not only be an opportunity for flourishing girl students but will also pave the way for a new India, he added.
Delhi CM announces 'Deshbhakti Curriculum' for govt schools on I-day

"We kept on teaching Physics, Chemistry, Maths for 70 years, no one thought of teaching children Deshbhakti. I am delighted that the Deshbhakti Curriculum will be launched in schools of Delhi to instil patriotism in young minds," he said. The Chief Minister said that the Deshbhakti Curriculum will help realise the dreams of freedom fighters and the celebration of Independence Day.
DBSE gets nod for exams, certificates

Making an announcement regarding the development, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday said the collaboration with International Baccalaureate and with approval from COBSE and Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the DBSE is all set to transform learning assessment. Students passing out of DBSE schools will have universal recognition and acceptance.
'Need a quantum leap to make Indian education system future proof'

'Classroom in bus' provides free education to deprived children

Not only Nirmal, several underprivileged children who were deprived of the studies now join him in the 'Classroom Bus' for study. Every day four buses that have been converted into moving classrooms ply on Delhi's roads to provide education to the children living in slums. These buses aim to provide education to such children who have not been to schools.
New initiative by Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia to help students

Indian students, parents, academicians and educationists will work under the embassy's supervision. India's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ausaf Sayeed, said the education forum is one of the initiatives to be launched to mark India's 75th Independence Day. This August 15 also marks the 75th anniversary of bilateral relations between India and Saudi Arabia.
NEET-MDS counselling to be held from Aug 20 to Oct 10, SC told

Senior advocate Vikas Singh, representing the petitioners, submitted before the top court that that Centre, in its affidavit, said that they will conduct the counselling for the NEET-MDS admissions, for which exams were held last year on December 16, from August 20 to October 10, 2021. The results were declared on December 31, 2020.
Last chance for students to register for JEE Mains on Wednesday

Lakhs of students across the country have already registered themselves for the fourth and the final stage of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main for seeking admissions to top IITs. The National Testing Agency (NTA) said such students who were unable to register themselves for the JEE Main can still apply for registration till Wednesday after which no student will be allowed to appear in the exam.
Only one out of 8.71 lakh students failed in SSLC exams in Karnataka

Minister Nagesh said, one girl student who was absent for the examination has failed. As many as 6 per cent students who secured 'C' grade in SSLC exams have been granted grace marks and promoted, he added. The examinations were conducted through Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB). For those who did not attend exams, KSEEB is giving them another opportunity to write exams.
