St Stephen's College case: Supreme Court refuses to stay Delhi High Court order; admissions now on basis of CUET
A bench comprising Justices Ajay Rastogi and C.T. Ravikumar declined to stay the high court order. "We find no reason to stay the judgment", said the top court. Therefore, St Stephen's College cannot hold interviews for general category students and it would have to give admissions for the undergraduate courses only on the basis of CUET scores.

Also, the plea over the row between St. Stephen's College and Delhi University regarding admission of students in the under-graduate courses would be taken up for hearing on Wednesday in the Supreme Court. Earlier, three teachers from St. Stephen's College's governing body and two university representatives disagreed on knocking at the Supreme Court's doors against the High Court decision. However, the remaining 12 members agreed to it, on the basis of which the governing body has taken the decision.
DU to release first cut off list for UG admissions
Registered candidates can check the list on DU's official website and can accept the allotted seat from October 19 to October 21. The various colleges affiliated with DU can verify and accept the online applications from October 19 to October 22. The seats awarded on the basis of the first merit list can be accepted till 5 p.m. on October 21.

Once the university release the list, candidates can check the list at the official website of JNUEE - jnuee.jnu.ac.in The university will be admitting students to its undergraduate and Certificate of Proficiency (COP) courses this year through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The submission of online application forms began on September 27 and concluded on October 12.

Eligible candidates can download their admit card from the official website at nta.nic.in, or ntaexam2022.cbtexam.in, using their Application Number and Date of Birth. Two top-tier Japanese universities agree to merge
The Tokyo Institute of Technology and the Tokyo Medical and Dental University on Friday said they intend to apply for the status of internationally competitive universities, which will enable the new entity to receive funding from the government's new 10-trillion-yen ($68-billion) programme for helping universities generate global competitiveness. The two institutions are among only 10 national schools designated by the Japanese government as having top-level research capabilities in the country, Xinhua news agency reported.
DU teachers unhappy with new academic calendar, say studies will be compromised
The teachers stated that the students have not been given enough time to prepare for the examination and the syllabus in the new calendar, according to which, the first year classes are to start from November 2 and Semester 2 classes will start from March 20, 2023.

Eligible candidates who have appeared for the Exam conducted in June can check their results through the official site of IGNOU at ignou.ac.in. This year, the exams were conducted by the IGNOU for various programmes from July 20, 2022. Earlier the last date was October 10, now the candidates can apply till 4.59 pm, October 12, 2022. “In the larger interest of the candidates who are still in the process of deciding their preferences, the University has extended the last date of Phase I and Phase II by two days. Phase I and Phase II of CSAS will now be open for candidates till 04:59 P.M. Wednesday, October 12, 2022,” the official press release of Delhi University stated.
Delhi University to release first merit list on October 18
The university has decided to extend the registration deadline for admission by two days. Now, candidates can apply for admission in Delhi University till October 12. The first merit will be released at 5 p.m. on the day (October 18), while the students can claim admission on the basis of the merit list till 5 p.m. on October 21.
