In today's trading session, PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) stocks are leading the gains, particularly in the oil and gas, insurance, and banking sectors.
The PSU index has surged by more than 3% on Monday, with notable gains in individual stocks. SJVN has witnessed a significant uptick of 16%, while NHPC is up by 10%. Insurance stocks are also performing well, with GIC Re recording a 12% increase, New India Assurance up by 9%, and LIC gaining 6%. MMTC and MTNL have seen gains of 9% each.
Oil and gas stocks are experiencing substantial growth, with IOC leading the way with a 7% increase. GAIL, HPCL, and BPCL are up by 4%, and ONGC has seen a 3% rise.
Metal stocks are on the rise, with SAIL gaining 5% and Nalco up by 4%. Energy stocks are also performing positively, with Coal India up by 4% and NLC India witnessing a 6% increase.
The Oil and Gas index has seen an increase of more than 3%, while the Energy stocks index is up by 3%. The metal index has also climbed by 2%.
PSU banks are showing notable gains, with UCO Bank surging by 16%, IOB up by 15%, Central Bank witnessing a 9% increase, and Bank of Maharashtra gaining 8%.
