Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the newly integrated Terminal 3 (T3) at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA) on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in aviation infrastructure. The construction of T3, amounting to a staggering Rs 2,400 crore investment, heralds a new era in air travel efficiency and comfort.
Designed to accommodate both domestic and international flights, Terminal T3 boasts a formidable capacity, capable of handling up to 4,000 passengers during peak hours. The inaugural phase of this state-of-the-art terminal can manage 8 million passengers annually, featuring elevated pathways that effectively segregate arrival and departure flows. Subsequent expansions in Phase 2 are set to further amplify this capacity to serve 13 million passengers per year.
During the inauguration ceremony, Karan Adani, the Managing Director of Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd, articulated a bold vision for CCSIA, emphasizing its pivotal role in Uttar Pradesh's economic trajectory. Adani underscored the airport's master plan, which envisions accommodating a staggering 38 million passengers annually by 2047-48. Beyond mere infrastructure development, this ambitious endeavor is poised to generate over 13,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, thus catalyzing the region's economic progress.
The terminal's interior exudes elegance, complemented by an array of cutting-edge amenities curated for passenger convenience. Boasting 72 check-in counters, including 17 for self-baggage drop, and 62 immigration counters, T3 ensures seamless passenger transit. Modern lounges further enhance passenger comfort, embodying a commitment to elevate the travel experience.
Moreover, the newly constructed apron facilitates a notable increase in passenger boarding gates, from 7 to 13, and passenger boarding bridges, from 2 to 7. This expansion is poised to enhance operational efficiency, enabling smoother and more expedited travel experiences.
In alignment with the vision of simplifying travel, T3 incorporates advanced technologies such as DigiYatra, common-use self-service kiosks, automated tray retrieval systems, and state-of-the-art baggage screening machines. These innovations underscore a commitment to enhancing passenger convenience and efficiency.
Beyond functionality, the airport embraces a captivating aesthetic narrative, showcasing the art and architecture of Uttar Pradesh. From intricately illuminated motifs depicting 'Chikankari' and 'Mukaish' embroidery at check-in counters to graphic representations of epic narratives like the Ramayana and Mahabharata, the terminal promises an immersive sensory experience.
