Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised Lockheed Martin’s dedication to advancing the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ initiative.
On Thursday, Jim Taiclet, the CEO of Lockheed Martin, had a meeting with Prime Minister Modi.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) shared on X: “CEO of @LockheedMartin, Jim Taiclet met Prime Minister @narendramodi. Lockheed Martin is a key partner in India-US Aerospace and Defence Industrial cooperation. We welcome its commitment towards realising the vision of ‘Make in India, Make for the World.”
Lockheed Martin has supplied India with cutting-edge defense technologies to boost its military capabilities, including advancements in aerospace, naval systems, missile defense, and strategic operations.
It has set up a joint venture with Tata Advanced Systems Limited to manufacture the C-130J empennage in Hyderabad. More than 200 empennages have been produced and delivered with an increasing percentage of indigenously sourced content.
It has also shifted its helicopter cabin manufacturing from Japan to India.
The Lockheed Martin-manufactured C-130J transport aircraft is an integral fleet of the Indian Air Force.
