Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Asia's wealthiest man, married Radhika Merchant, a pharmaceutical heiress and his childhood sweetheart, on Friday. The star-studded wedding was attended by celebrities from around the world, prominent politicians, major figures from the Hindi and South Indian film industries, and nearly all of India's top cricketers.
The event, labeled as the 'wedding of the year,' saw a diverse range of high-profile guests, including reality TV stars Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Nigerian rapper Rema, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, and global business leaders such as Saudi Aramco CEO Amin Nasser, Samsung Electronics chairman Jay Lee, and GSK plc chief executive Emma Walmsley.
Bollywood's biggest stars, from Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan to Ajay Devgn, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Tiger Shroff, and Varun Dhawan, attended with their families. Southern superstars Rajinikanth, Ram Charan, and Mahesh Babu also graced the occasion.
Indian cricket legends, including Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, as well as past greats like Krish Srikkanth and current stars such as Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Suryakumar Yadav, were also present.
The 29-year-old Anant and Radhika, the daughter of Indian pharma magnates Viren and Shaila Merchant, were wed in a traditional Hindu ceremony at Mumbai's Jio World Drive, a convention center owned by the Ambani family.
Dressed in a rust-orange sherwani, the groom departed from the Ambani family residence, Antilia, in a luxurious red car adorned with white flowers. The 'baraat' then assembled for a short journey to the mandap at the convention center.
American actor and rapper John Cena and Tamil superstar Rajinikanth joined Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and the groom himself for a dance during the 'baraat.' Shah Rukh Khan shared hugs and danced with Nita Ambani as she and her husband greeted him and his family. Some guests, like Ananya Panday, wore outfits displaying the message 'Anant's Brigade' for the 'baraat.'
