Procter & Gamble (P&G), the US consumer goods giant, said Shailesh Jejurikar, an Indian national, will join the company as Chief Executive Officer starting January 1, 2026.
Jejurikar, who is the present Chief Operating Officer at P&G, will succeed Jon Moeller as a result of a scheduled leadership transition.
The firm, which has its headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, made the announcement in an official statement. Jejurikar joined the company in 1989, when he began as an assistant brand manager.
"Shailesh Jejurikar.will become Procter & Gamble's President and Chief Executive Officer upon January 1, 2026. Jejurikar has also been nominated to be elected as a Director at the October 2025 annual shareholder meeting," the P&G statement stated.
During his time, Jejurikar played a key role in developing many of the P&G's flagship businesses, particularly in Fabric and Home Care. His leadership spread over various worldwide markets like North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. He also contributed significantly to developing the company's supply chain, information technology, and global business services strategies.
Apart from his role at P&G, Jejurikar also serves as a board member of Otis Elevator Company, a global leader in vertical transportation systems.
A graduate of the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, Jejurikar's promotion is part of the increasing number of Indian-origin leaders of global firms.
This past July, Apple revealed the promotion of Sabih Khan, who was born in Moradabad, India, to the rank of Chief Operating Officer. Khan will take up the role later this month, replacing Jeff Williams, and will remain under the supervision of CEO Tim Cook. He has been with Apple for thirty years and was added to Apple's executive leadership in 2019 as Senior Vice President of Operations.
