In a recent statement shared via X, Musk revealed his excitement about the scheduled encounter with PM Modi, set to take place during the week of April 22 in New Delhi, as reported by various media outlets.
Accompanied by key Tesla executives, Musk is expected to unveil plans for potential investments and the establishment of a sizable manufacturing facility in India, projected to range between $2-3 billion.
For Musk, the expansion of Tesla into the Indian market represents a natural evolution, as the company actively explores options for locating suitable factory sites in the country. Emphasizing the inevitability of electric vehicles dominating the automotive landscape, Musk reiterated, "All vehicles will go electric, and it is just a matter of time."
Reports suggest that Tesla is eyeing states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu as prime locations for initiating electric vehicle manufacturing operations, with plans to not only cater to the domestic market but also to explore avenues for exporting vehicles.
