"The state's finances are on a solid footing, with a growth rate of 10.64 percent, the highest in the country. In the current fiscal year, we have successfully uplifted 2.5 crore people from poverty. The budget estimate for the next fiscal stands at Rs 2,78,725.72 crore, marking a notable increase of Rs 16,840 crore compared to the current year," Choudhary stated confidently.

Despite facing disruptions from opposition members, who later staged a walkout, Choudhary concluded the debate. Notably, he had presented the budget in the assembly on February 13.

During the discussion, CPI (ML) Liberation MLA Ajit Kushwaha criticized the state budget for 2024-2025, labeling it as misleading and unrealistic. He expressed disappointment over the absence of new welfare schemes for the impoverished and socially marginalized, as well as the lack of government initiatives to generate employment opportunities.

However, senior BJP leader and former finance minister Tarkishore Prasad countered these criticisms by highlighting that a substantial portion of the state government's revenue expenditure will be allocated to social services. "This underscores the NDA government's commitment to the social and economic advancement of Bihar," Prasad affirmed.
