Consolidating further its position as the largest private sector transmission player in India, Adani Energy Solutions Ltd said on Monday that it has completed the acquisition of Khavda Phase-IV Part-A transmission project.
The 298 km, Rs 4,091 crore long project will evacuate 7 GW of RE from Khavda renewable energy park into the national grid.
AESL emerged as the winner through the TBCB process and will commission the project in the next 24 months and then maintain it for the next 35 years.
"As the world's largest renewable energy park, Khavda demands power evacuation infrastructure that's not only world-class but also resilient and future-ready," said Kandarp Patel, Chief Executive Officer, AESL.
The investment will provide the essential transmission network required for evacuating the planned 30 GW of green power at Khavda; it will also offer much-required grid stability.
"AESL is proud to be part of this initiative as this network will play a very important role in seamless flow of green energy to national grid, bolstering India's journey towards net zero," added Patel.
The SPV of Khavda IVA Power Transmission Ltd was incorporated by RECPDCL for the purpose of evacuating 7 GW of RE from Khavda RE park. AESL took over Khavda IVA Power Transmission Ltd to execute the project.
AECL has been issued a letter of intent by REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd, reinforcing its position as one of the leading players in the transition of energy in India.
The transmission lines and transformation capacity of AESL now stand at 21,783 ckm and 61,686 MVA, respectively.
With a generation capacity of 30 GW, Khavda - the largest RE park in the world, will play a major role in the decarbonisation journey of India.
With the Adani Group's focused approach, Khavda-a mere barren stretch of land, will get transformed into a landmark in India's net zero journey, the company said.
