BMW launched its latest motorcycle addition with the unveiling of the S 1000 XR in India, priced at Rs 22,50,000 (ex-showroom). Available in three striking color trims—Blackstorm metallic, Gravityblue metallic with Style Sports, and Lightwhite solid paint/Motorsport with M Package—the new model comes as a completely assembled unit and bookings are open at all authorized BMW Motorrad India dealerships.
Describing the S 1000 XR, Vikram Pawah, President of BMW Group India, emphasized its fusion of long-distance endurance and high-performance features within a sporty framework. "Enhanced across all critical aspects, this motorcycle promises an elevated, spirited riding experience, regardless of the journey's length. You can pursue countless bends – the choice of when to conclude the ride is entirely yours," he stated.
The revamped S 1000 XR boasts an upgraded in-line 4-cylinder engine designed to deliver even more remarkable performance, characterized by a flow-optimized configuration for the intake channels, as highlighted by the company.
Generating a peak output of 170 hp (125 kW) at 11,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 114 Nm at 9,250 rpm, the motorcycle accelerates from 0 to 100 km in a mere 3.25 seconds and reaches an impressive top speed of 253 km/h.
Equipped with an expanded set of standard features, including Touring and Dynamic packages, the new S 1000 XR ensures that riders are equipped with the necessary gear for extended journeys while simultaneously enhancing performance and comfort, as stated by the company.
