Kia, the second-largest automaker in South Korea, unveiled its latest iteration of the EV6 electric vehicle on Tuesday. This upgraded version of the crossover SUV showcases a renewed design and comes equipped with a state-of-the-art fourth-generation 84 kWh battery, alongside an advanced infotainment system leveraging Hyundai Motor Group's software defined vehicle (SDV) technology.
Focusing on the dynamism of the new EV6, Kia retains its philosophy, "Modern Contrast." Specifically, the Star Map lighting design is incorporated into the front and rear lamps, paired with newly developed wing-shaped bumpers, as Yonhap news agency reports.
Inside, the updated EV6 offers an extended panoramic curved display and ambient lighting with dynamic graphics.
With an upgraded fourth-generation battery, EV6's capacity increased from the previous 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh. The long-range two-wheel drive can go as far as 494 km on a single charge from the previous model's 475-km range.
Pre-orders for the new EV6 are currently open, with the model hitting the market next month, said Kia.
