Afghans celebrate Eid amid heightened security
Although no untoward incident was reported on Sunday, Afghans marked the festival as security personnel arranged foolproof security measures around all mosques in Kabul and other major cities, reports Xinhua news agency. Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran has assured the public that security arrangements were tight.

Delhi reports slight dip in new Covid cases, no fresh deaths
The number of active cases has also risen to 5,997, while the Covid positivity rate stands at 4.89 per cent. With 1,204 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries has gone to 18,52,388. The number of Covid patients being treated in home isolation stands at 4,358.
Fourth arrest by NCB in Shaheen Bagh drug haul case
Earlier, three persons including two Afghanistan nationals were held. "The fourth arrest was made following a tip off and the accused was allegedly involved in money laundering," the NCB official said. NCB head S.N. Pradhan had said that the it was one of the biggest operations of the NCB in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh.
Pleasant Sunday evening for Delhi NCR, dust storm/thunderstorm expected on Monday
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted partly cloudy sky with dust storm/thunderstorm, accompanied with gusty winds (speed about 40-50 kmph), with maximum and minimum temperatures to be around 39 and 25 degrees Celsius for Safdarjung station - Delhi's base station - on Monday.
20 civilians evacuated from Mariupol steel plant
Taking to social media late Saturday, Sviatoslav Palamar, deputy commander of the Azov Regiment, said: "We have transferred 20 civilians, who were rescued from the rubble, to the agreed location. These are women and children. We hope that these people will go in the agreed direction, namely Zaporizhzhya," Ukrayinska Pravda reported. He also claimed that "both parties are maintaining the ceasefire" in the area.

Light rain with gusty winds likely in parts of Delhi-NCR
Residents of the national capital woke up to a pleasant Sunday morning, with the Safdarjung Observatory registering less than 30 degrees Celsius at 9 a.m. The IMD's NowCast at 8 a.m. forecast light rain accompanied with gusty winds (speed up to 30-40 kmph) for northeast, southeast and southwest NCR.
Border Bandwidth: N-E states e-connect with the world via Bangladesh
For making available high quality and high speed internet access to the northeastern states of India, the state owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has recently commissioned additional international bandwidth for internet connectivity through Cox's Bazar in southeast Bangladesh. Delhi reports 1,520 fresh Covid cases; positivity rate crosses 5%
The fresh infections have taken the overall caseload to 18,83,075. The Covid positivity rate in the city has reached 5.10 per cent. Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, one Covid related death has also been reported, taking the death toll in the city to 26,175. The Covid fatality rate in capital city stands at 1.39 per cent, as per the health bulletin. The number of active Covid cases in the city has also surged to 5,716.
