Delhi reports sharp decline in Covid cases at 799, 3 deaths

The Covid positivity rate has slightly dipped to 4.94 per cent, while the number of active cases stands at 5,369. With 1,366 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries has gone to 18,63,502. The number of patients being treated in home isolation is 4,395.

Gyanvapi Mosque Dispute Update: One of five petitioners to withdraw suit, other four to continue legal battle

Rakhi Singh, the only Delhi resident among the five women petitioners, had filed a petition in a Varanasi court in 2021. The other four petitioners- Laxmi Devi, Sita Sahu, Manju Vyas and Rekha Pathak belong to Varanasi.  All of the five women filed a petition to seek permission to worship daily Maa Shringar Gauri, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman and Nandi located on the outer wall of the Gyanvapi mosque. Additionally, they want the caretakers of the mosque to not cause any hindrance in the process of worship at the disputed site.
Shaheen Bagh demolition drive: Protestors detained

The people, along with Congress party workers, protested against the demolition drive. The personnel forcefully removed the agitators which sat in front of the JCB bulldozer. The agitators also included women which were removed by the women security personnel.

The bench orally observed, "Why demolition takes place when matter is listed..." In the morning, the Chief Justice had asked the counsel to mention the matter before the bench considering the Jahangirpuri demolition.
Trudeau meets Zelensky in Kiev

According to an official statement, Trudeau said that Canada would be providing Ukraine with an additional military aid worth of C$50 million ($40 million), including drone cameras, high-resolution satellite imagery, small arms as well as ammunition, reports Xinhua news agency. 'Hanuman Chalisa vs Azaan': K'taka police on high alert

Sri Ram Sena founder Pramod Muthalik inaugurated the programme at a temple in Mysuru district at 5 a.m. He claimed that the chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa and 'Suprabhata' (morning) prayers were performed at more than 1,000 temples against Azaan in mosques. The police have taken activists into custody who were all set to launch the Hanuman Chalisa chanting at a temple in Bengaluru.
173 more civilians evacuated from Mariupol steel plant

In a social media post on Sunday, the Mariupol City Council said the civilians arrived in Zaporizhzhya on board 10 buses, reports Ukrayinska Pravda. The Council added that three soldiers were killed and six others injured during the evacuation process. It also thanked the UN, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk for facilitating the safe evacuation.
Himachal Police seal interstate borders after Khalistani banners seen outside Assembly

Section 13 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) has been added to the FIR. The Director General of Police has issued directions to the field formations to remain on high alert from Sunday, while the ADGP (CID), the IG and the DIG ranges and the district SPs have been directed to seal all interstate borders or barriers and keep strict vigil at the places of probable hideouts i.e. hotels and sarais, etc.
