Puducherry Education Dept to formulate uniform dress code for students: Governer

The Governor's statement came after a school headmaster asked a Muslim student of class IX to remove her hijab. The Director of School Education in Puducherry, P.R. Rudra Goud said that the dress code will have detailed guidelines on uniforms and on a few things that would be permitted. He also said that the dress code would be enforced among students after the government approves proposal and added that an enquiry into the headmaster asking the student to remove the hijab was on.
Come out and vote for freedom from fear: Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also made an appeal to the voters. He tweeted in Hindi, saying: "Come out and vote, get country freedom from all fear". The voting is underway in the western UP where BJP has high stakes. Voting began at 7 a.m. in the 58 Assembly constituencies in the first of the seven-phase elections, covering 11 districts of western Uttar Pradesh.

Zeliang, senior civil and security officials were present in the swearing-in-ceremony, which was conducted by Chief Secretary J. Alam.
Over 56 cr transactions under One Nation One Ration Card plan: Govt

Of these, Bihar that enabled the scheme in May 2020, alone saw a whopping15,90,43,162 transactions, the highest in all states and UTs, followed by Andhra Pradesh (August 2019) that saw 8,62,33,519 transactions, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Ashwini Kumar Choubey told the Lok Sabha in a written reply.
AIIMS discontinue Covid testing prior to inpatient hospitalisation, surgeries

The decision has been taken as the current surge of Covid-19 cases in the country is showing a sustained declining trends from last one week. However, the country on Wednesday reported a marginal rise in daily Covid cases at 71,365. The decision has been taken in accordance with the current Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) guidelines, AIIMS said in a statement.
Delhi reports marginal rise in fresh Covid cases, 13 deaths

The Covid positivity rate has come down to 2.11 per cent, while the active cases has also reduced to 6,304. With Covid recovery rate climbing at 98.25 per cent, the active cases rate stands at 0.34 per cent while the death rate continues at 1.41 per cent. With 1,908 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, the total number of recoveries has gone to 18,15,188.

Hijab row: Prohibitory orders clamped in Bengaluru

Considering the seriousness of the situation and to prevent the confrontation in the capital city, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant has clamped prohibitory orders for two weeks from February 9 to 22. Any gathering, protest or agitation of any kind within the radius of 200 meters from the school premises, PU colleges, Degree colleges or other similar education institutes in Bengaluru city, will not be allowed, the order says.
