White House Confirms Iran's Airborne Assault on Israel

In response to the looming threat of an Iranian drone attack, Israeli aviation authorities have announced the closure of the country's airspace to all flights.

President Joe Biden, who hastened back to Washington from Delaware in light of the escalating situation in the Middle East, will convene with his national security team to address the regional crisis. Upon his return, he received briefings from National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Principal Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer.

Watson emphasized the ongoing communication between President Biden's team and Israeli officials, as well as other allies. She underscored President Biden's firm stance, affirming that the US's commitment to Israel's security remains steadfast.

A comprehensive meeting is scheduled at the White House's Situation Room, with attendees including Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Charles Q Brown, CIA Director Bill Burns, NIA Director Avril Haines, Counselor to the President Steve Ricchetti, and National Security Council Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa Brett McGurk. Vice President Kamala Harris and Chief of Staff Jeff Zients will participate via secure video link.
