According to Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, Russian President Vladimir Putin has affirmed his willingness to engage in dialogue with Ukraine, highlighting that a previously stalled peace agreement from 2022 could be a starting point for renewed negotiations.
During a discussion with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Putin emphasized Moscow's support for restarting talks but insisted that any dialogue should not aim to impose unrealistic schemes.
Peskov further elaborated that the "Istanbul agreements," a preliminary peace deal drafted in March 2022 between Russia and Ukraine, could provide a framework for restarting negotiations, despite significant developments since then.
He expressed the Kremlin's perception that the Ukrainian side is not adequately prepared for talks with Russia.
