The Iowa Caucus marked the official start of the 2024 White House race, with former President Trump emerging victorious and strengthening his position to secure the Republican nomination. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis secured second place, and Indian-American former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley came in third.

Ramaswamy, having secured only 7.7% of the votes polled, found himself in a distant fourth place.

Despite his decision to suspend the campaign, Ramaswamy demonstrated unity within the Republican Party by calling Trump to congratulate him on his caucus victory and officially endorsing him for the presidency. This move aligns with his earlier statement that there are two "America First" candidates in the race.

Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur and second-generation Indian American, entered the Republican Party’s presidential primary, following in the footsteps of Nikki Haley. Born to parents who migrated from Kerala, he founded Roivant Sciences in 2014 and has been successful in leading various healthcare and technology companies. In 2022, he launched Strive Asset Management, focusing on bringing the voices of everyday citizens back into the American economy by encouraging companies to prioritize excellence over politics.
