Vivek Ramaswamy Reaffirms Commitment: State Ballots Removing Donald Trump's Name Prompt Withdrawal Pledge

These states recently disqualified former President Donald Trump from the 2024 White House race due to his alleged role in the 2021 Capitol attack, citing the 14th Amendment, which prohibits individuals engaged in insurrection from holding future office.

Vivek Ramaswamy, the Indian-American Republican presidential candidate, is making waves by urging his fellow contenders to join him in withdrawing from the ballots in the US states of Maine and Colorado. These states recently disqualified former President Donald Trump from the 2024 White House race due to his alleged role in the 2021 Capitol attack, citing the 14th Amendment, which prohibits individuals engaged in insurrection from holding future office.

In a Monday interview, the 38-year-old biotech entrepreneur expressed his goal to "nullify" these states' decisions by boycotting their elections. Despite Trump facing legal challenges, he remains the leading candidate among Republicans for the upcoming election.

Ramaswamy emphasized the unconstitutional nature of the states' actions and called for a united stance among Republican candidates. He personally committed to removing his name from the disqualified ballots and urged prominent figures like Nikki Haley, Chris Christie, and Ron DeSantis to do the same.

While some Republican candidates, including Haley, Christie, and DeSantis, have opposed efforts to block Trump from participating in the elections, Ramaswamy accused others of being "radio silent" on the issue. He argued that if all Republicans withdraw, it would nullify the unconstitutional removal of candidates from the ballots in Maine and Colorado.

Ramaswamy criticized the arbitrary decision-making process, asserting that it was both unconstitutional and wrong for a single secretary of state to exclude Trump without proper trial or procedure. Despite Trump's denial of wrongdoing related to the Capitol attack and his legal battles, Ramaswamy remains firm in his stance, emphasizing the need to stand on principle and reject what he sees as an abuse of the electoral process.
