Local media outlets have reported that both US President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump emerged victorious in the Louisiana Democratic and Republican primaries, respectively.
Earlier this month, it was confirmed by the Xinhua news agency that both Biden and Trump had garnered adequate delegates to secure their positions as the presidential nominees for their respective parties in the upcoming 2024 election.
While Missouri also conducted its Democratic primary on Saturday, the announcement of its results is anticipated next week.
The momentum for Biden and Trump was evident on March 19, as they clinched victories in their party's primaries across several states, including Ohio, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, and Arizona.
As Americans navigate through a series of primary contests, the reality of witnessing the first presidential rematch since 1956 is sinking in. Many express dissatisfaction with the limited political options presented and express a desire for a broader spectrum of choices.
According to a January poll conducted by Ipsos, a prominent market research firm, a significant portion of respondents, approximately two-thirds, expressed fatigue with recurrent presidential candidates and voiced a yearning for fresh faces in the political arena. Moreover, the survey underscored that only a quarter of Americans are content with the prevailing two-party system.
