US Will Continue To Support Ukraine, Says US National Security Advisor Sullivan

Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine's determination to stand against Russia, even in the absence of support.

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has reassured that the United States will persist in supporting Ukraine. This commitment follows Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's assertion that assistance from the US and Europe is crucial in the ongoing conflict with Russia.

Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine's determination to stand against Russia, even in the absence of support. However, he cautioned against viewing it as merely Ukraine's war, as the consequences would extend beyond the Ukrainian people. Sullivan, addressing the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, echoed the commitment to support Ukraine, emphasizing that the US and its partners will stand with the nation.

In his address, Sullivan also conveyed a message of hope for peace, stating that achieving peace and security for all requires collaborative and wise decision-making. He highlighted the US approach in the Middle East, particularly in addressing rising tensions in the Red Sea, emphasizing a combination of deterrence and diplomacy to curb conflict spread and create conditions for de-escalation.

Earlier, Zelenskyy met with US Secretary Anthony Blinken and Sullivan on the sidelines of the WEF annual meeting. Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to President Joe Biden, Congress, and the American people for unwavering support. The Ukrainian president discussed further defense cooperation with an emphasis on air defense and long-range capabilities. He also emphasized the need for increased international investment in Ukraine, particularly in defense manufacturing, to enhance self-reliance and reduce dependence on foreign military and financial aid. The discussions underscored the importance of ongoing collaboration between the US and Ukraine in addressing regional security challenges.
