Pakistan Issues Warning to Iran Over Missile Attack on Balochistan Terror Bases

Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards reportedly executed the strikes a day after launching missile attacks on targets in Iraq and Syria.

Pakistan issued a stern warning to Iran on Wednesday following the unprecedented missile and drone strikes carried out by Tehran on terrorist bases in Balochistan province. The attacks, targeting two bases of the Balochi militant group Jaish al Adl, resulted in the tragic death of two children and injuries to three others.

Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards reportedly executed the strikes a day after launching missile attacks on targets in Iraq and Syria. The Foreign Office of Pakistan strongly condemned Iran's actions, labeling it a "violation of its airspace." The attack, described as an "unprovoked violation of sovereignty," prompted Pakistan to express its vehement protest, emphasizing the potential for "serious consequences."

The specific bases targeted by Iran were identified as the "Green Mountain" area, where a combination of missiles and drone attacks successfully demolished the Jaish al-Adl strongholds. This militant group has a history of launching attacks on Iranian security forces along the border with Pakistan.

Despite established communication channels between Pakistan and Iran, the Foreign Office expressed concern over the "illegal act" and highlighted the need for coordinated action against terrorism in the region. The statement stressed that such unilateral acts could undermine bilateral trust and confidence.

Local authorities in Panjgur, suspected as the location of the bases, remained tight-lipped about the attacks. Unofficial reports suggested that missile strikes also damaged a mosque and caused civilian injuries.

Last month, Jaish al-Adl was implicated in an attack in Sistan-Balochistan, Iran, resulting in the death of 11 police officers. The Iranian Interior Minister blamed the group, alleging their entry from the Pakistan side near Panjgur.

The troubled Balochistan province has long been a focal point for terrorist activities, with various banned religious, terror, and separatist groups utilizing the region for attacks against Pakistan's security personnel and installations. The latest incident adds to the complexity of regional dynamics, raising concerns about heightened tensions in the Middle East.
