US officials to boycott Beijing Olympics

The National Security Council has refused to make a comment regarding the boycott. US President Biden's administration is expected to announce a boycott of the 2022 Beijing Olympics, this week. Which means no US government officials will attend the 2022 Olympics to be held in China, implementing a diplomatic boycott of the games, CNN reported. However, the National Security Council has refused to make a comment regarding the boycott. 1. It will be a diplomatic boycott, US athletes will still be competing in the 2022 Beijing Olympics. Only US officials will boycott.This Boycott will allow the US to send a message on the world stage to China, the report said.

4. This is not the first time the US took this movie, last time it was the then President Jimmy Carter who fully boycotted the Olympics in 1980.

5. Last month US President Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping had a virtual summit. This summit is considered as some of the most critical diplomatic talks of Biden's presidency. Biden raised concerns about human rights, Chinese aggression towards Taiwan as well as trade issues, the report said.
