The attack on Tuesday in the Pahalgam area of Kashmir killed 26 individuals, most of them tourists, who are the biggest casualty in an attack since 2019 Pulwama. The attack outraged India to de-diplomate Pakistan further and implement a string of initiatives such as eviction of Pakistan army attaches from India and suspension of the 1960 Indus Water Treaty.

Other global leaders like US President Donald Trump and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also joined in condemning the attack. UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric condemned his horror at what happened, agreeing that the UN strongly condemns the attack but was unable to give comments regarding possible future tension.
