UN Chief Warns, Gaza War Can Spill Into A Regional Conflict

He highlighted the risk of a wider regional conflict if the conflict in Gaza persists, warning about the potential for escalation and misjudgments by various actors involved.

Guterres emphasized the alarming surge in violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank by Israeli forces and settlers. He also mentioned other concerning incidents, such as confrontations between Hezbollah and Israel along the south Lebanon border, attacks from Iraq and Syria, and the Houthis targeting shipping in the Red Sea.
