Shocked at the Focus of UN Security Council Briefing Says Israel Ambassador to UN

Expressing shock at the "blatant lies" being propagated, Erdan highlighted the Council's disregard for terrorist attacks originating from Lebanese territory.

The Ambassador of Israel to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, vehemently criticized the focus of the emergency UN Security Council meeting convened at the request of the United Arab Emirates. The meeting, which centered on the Israel-Hamas war, the situation in Judea and Samaria, and Israeli security operations in Palestinian cities, drew sharp rebuke from Erdan.

Expressing shock at the "blatant lies" being propagated, Erdan highlighted the Council's disregard for terrorist attacks originating from Lebanese territory. He questioned the absence of condemnation for rocket fire from Lebanon, stressing the grave situation in northern Israel, where 50,000 Israeli civilians were displaced due to Iran-backed attacks by Hezbollah.

Addressing claims of "settler" violence, Erdan refuted historical inaccuracies, stating that there were no Israelis in the West Bank in 1948 or 1967. Despite this, he noted the relentless efforts by Palestinians and Arab countries to annihilate Israel.

Emphasizing the alarming frequency of Palestinian terrorist attacks in Judea and Samaria compared to incidents against Palestinians, Erdan criticized the UN for ignoring terrorism against Israelis. He accused the UN of distorting or ignoring facts related to Israeli terror victims, attributing its actions to being a driving force behind current detrimental trends.

Erdan called attention to the UN's complicity with terror organizations and anti-Semitism, citing instances of atrocity denial and downplaying sexual violence perpetrated by Hamas. In a stern declaration, he asserted, "For the UN, Israeli lives don't matter!"

Accusing the UN of being manipulated by the Arab League to divert attention from Palestinian terror, Erdan read the names of 129 hostages held captive by Hamas. He concluded by asserting that the hostages will not be forgotten, and the war in Gaza will persist until all hostages are brought home, urging the world to remember their names and the reasons behind the ongoing conflict.
