Sunak, proud of his Hindu heritage, expressed its importance as a source of strength and resilience during challenging times. "I am a proud Hindu. That's how I was raised, that's how I am," he affirmed during the G20 Summit in New Delhi in September. Notably, during the pandemic Diwali of 2020, Sunak, in his role as Chancellor of the Exchequer, illuminated Downing Street with diyas, symbolizing hope and unity.
