Trump Enacts Sweeping Legislation Dubbed 'One Big Beautiful Bill'

I've never in my life seen people so joyful in our nation because of that, because so many various groups of people are being provided for: the military, civilians of all kinds, employment of all kinds. So you have the largest tax reduction, the largest spending reduction, the biggest investment in border security in American history," he said at the ceremony.

At a critical political moment during the White House Fourth of July celebrations, President Donald Trump formally signed the "One Big Beautiful Bill," a broad legislative bill that had received a unanimous final nod from the House of Representatives the day before.

Praising the bill as historic, Trump spoke enthusiastically to the crowd.

So you have the largest tax reduction, the largest spending reduction, the biggest investment in border security in American history," he said at the ceremony.

The President specially acknowledged two important Republican leaders—Senate Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota and House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana—for their critical roles in passing the legislation through the Senate and the House.

"Those two are a team that are not going to be beat," Trump said, recognizing their coordination and efforts.

In a statement, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that the bill is "an encapsulation of all of the policies that the president campaigned on and the people voted on," describing it as "a victorious day for the American people."

Earlier this week, the Senate had previously passed the sweeping bill, which features broad tax cuts, cuts in federal spending, and higher allocations for defense and border enforcement. The House then followed up on Thursday afternoon, issuing the final approval to what Trump has dubbed as a transformative legislative package.

On his Truth Social site, Trump said he was proud and hopeful over the passage of the legislation, referring to it as a milestone opening a "new Golden Age" for the nation.

"House Republicans have just voted the 'ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL ACT' through. Our Party is more UNITED than ever before, and our Country is 'hot.' We will have a Signing Celebration at the White House tomorrow, at 4 P.M. EST. All Congressmen/women and Senators are invited. We will together celebrate our Nation's Independence and the start of our new Golden Age," he posted on Friday.

In an extended remark, Trump went on to say, "The people of the United States of America will be Richer, Safer, and Prouder than ever before. Thank you to Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, Senate Majority Leader John Thune, and all of the wonderful Republican Members of Congress who helped us deliver on our Promises, and so much more.". Together, we can accomplish things that were not even dreamt of as being possible less than a year ago. We will continue working, and winning — congratulations America!
