US President-elect Donald Trump referred to Joe Biden as the "worst president in the history" of America as he laid the blame for the series of violent attacks on the first couple of days of the New Year on the Democrat's "open borders policy."
Trump also accused Biden and his supporters of causing lasting damage to the country, labeling them "election-interfering thugs.".
"With Biden's 'Open Borders Policy', I said many times during rallies and elsewhere that radical Islamic terrorism and other forms of violent crime would become so bad in America that it would be hard to even imagine," Trump wrote on X.
As the US welcomed the New Year, an ISIS-inspired assailant drove into a crowd in New Orleans, killing 15 people and injuring dozens. The incident is being treated as an act of terrorism. The driver, identified as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, was shot dead during a shootout with cops.
Hours later, a Tesla Cybertruck exploded near Trump Tower in Las Vegas. Authorities are investigating whether the two incidents are connected.
The third attack happened on Wednesday night at a nightclub in New York, where a shooting occurred. Eleven revellers were injured, but details about the incident remain limited. Trump said Biden's regime has been "worse than ever imagined". "Joe Biden is the WORST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF AMERICA. What he and his group of election-interfering 'thugs' have done to our country will not soon be forgotten! MAGA," Trump said.
In another post earlier on Wednesday, without referencing the New Orleans attack, Trump described the country as a "disaster" and the "laughing stock" of the world.
He blamed increasing crime on Biden's open border policies and accused the Department of Justice (DOJ), FBI and local prosecutors of failing to protect Americans while attacking political opponents, he said, singling him out.
"Our country is a disaster, a laughing stock all over the world!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.
This is what happens when you have open borders with weak, ineffective and virtually non-existent leadership. DOJ, FBI and democrat state and local prosecutors have failed to do their job. Incompetent, corrupt as well, since all their waking hours were spent engaging in lawless attacks against the political opponent - ME instead of protecting the people of the USA from violent scum which invaded our government, and even worse, our own nation.
"Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for letting this happen to our nation. The CIA needs to step in NOW before it is too late. The USA is crumbling—a violent deterioration of safety, national security, and democracy is occurring throughout our country. Only strength and strong leadership can stem it. See you on January 20th. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" he appended.
