In the occupied West Bank, an Israeli drone strike claimed the lives of seven Palestinians, while an Israeli police officer lost her life in a roadside bomb incident, as reported by Israelis and Palestinians
The Palestinian Health Ministry issued a statement on Sunday, asserting that the seven casualties were civilians, including four brothers from the village of Muthalath ash-Shuhada in the Jenin area of the northern West Bank, according to Xinhua news agency.
Contrastingly, the Israeli army shared footage of the drone attack, contending that at least six of the casualties were militants.
The incident unfolded during an Israeli troop raid in Jenin, occurring overnight between Saturday and Sunday, which triggered clashes with local youth.
A statement from Israel's paramilitary border police revealed that a military vehicle hit a roadside bomb during the raid, leading to the death of a border police officer. Another officer sustained serious injuries, and two others suffered minor wounds from shrapnel.
Separately, on Sunday, an Israeli man in his 30s was shot and killed while driving north of the settlement of Ofra, according to Israel's Magen David Adom rescue service.
The army categorized the incident as a suspected "terrorist attack" and initiated a manhunt for the gunman.
The West Bank has witnessed a surge in violence since the commencement of the Israel-Hamas conflict on October 7.
